Our faculty are trailblazers, continually challenge the status quo and inspiring students to do the same. Our Botany and Plant Sciences Department includes five female National Academy of Sciences members, the largest of any single academic department in the nation.

Academic Personnel Office

The is committed to leading and serving 91¶ÌÊÓÆµâ€™s diverse and internationally renowned academic community. Office staff provide support for faculty appointments and development, merit reviews and promotions, leaves of absence, fellowships, and more. The office handles employment matters for all academic employees — from faculty and lecturers to adjunct professors and librarians — and is a great resource for navigating 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ policies and processes.

Research Computing

buoys the talent and research of UC Riverside’s acclaimed faculty members and outstanding graduate and undergraduate students through powerful onsite and offsite computing resources, support, consulting, and training. Their work is supported by partnerships and collaborations with various areas of campus, including: the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Library, Bourns College of Engineering, College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, School of Medicine, Office of Research and Economic Development, and 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Research IT Leaders. Through a recent 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ is modernizing its technology services, increasing campus computing and storage capacity — and saving our researchers both time and money.

Hailing Jin and Mary Droser
National Academy of Sciences welcomes two 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ faculty members
The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) welcomes two UC Riverside professors as new members: Mary Droser, distinguished professor of earth and planetary sciences, and Hailing Jin, Cy Mouradick Endowed Chair of microbiology and plant pathology.

Honoring their theatre roots
Seniors in the Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production are recognized for their hard work and leadership with a scholarship created to acknowledge an influential UC Riverside staff member Marc Longlosis.
Superbugs, Indigenous video games, and tipping dilemmas
On April 11, nine UC Riverside graduate students presented their research at the 11th annual 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Grad Slam Final for a chance at $5,000. The event was hosted by 91¶ÌÊÓÆµâ€™s Grad Division and was held on campus at the School of Business.  Grad Slam is a University of California-wide speaking competition in which graduate students get three minutes to describe their research to judges and an audience of peers, faculty, staff, friends, and family. 
91¶ÌÊÓÆµ launches site to match students with scholarships
91¶ÌÊÓÆµ recently launched Scholarship Universe, a platform that analyzes a student’s academic history and interests to match them with relevant awards. The tool was made possible through a partnership with 91¶ÌÊÓÆµâ€™s Office of Financial Aid, University Advancement, and Information Technology Solutions.
